Problem Description

SSN1PQ1 is installed in slot #1 of OSN3500, and N2PQ1 veneer is installed in the four slots #2, #3, #4, and #5. Among them, N1PQ1 in slot #1 is the protection single board.

When configuring TPS protection, SSN2PQ1 boards are not available (none of them appear in the " available working board " selection ).

If N2PQ1 and N1PQ1 are mixed to configure TPS protection, the protection board must be N2PQ1. In this case, you can configure the TPS protection group by swapping the N1PQ1 in slot #1 with the N2PQ1 board in any of the four slots: #2, #3, #4 and #5.

Root Cause

In TPS protection, N2PQ1 can protect N1PQ1; however, N1PQ1 cannot protect N2PQ1; because N2PQ1 has the E13 function (converting between E1E3) in addition to supporting the function of N1PQ1; therefore, you cannot protect N2PQ1 with N1PQ1.
