Problem Description
An operator opens 2.5G service between two points A and B. Because of the long distance, 62COA is used for amplification. After testing, it is found that 62COA reports EDFA aging alarms WORK_CUR_OVER and OUT_PWR_ABN, and the service is normal.
Alarm information
WORK_CUR_OVER, OUT_PWR_ABN
Processing
1, the field test line receiving light is -42dBm, after theCOA output is -26dBm, which can be seen that the COA has amplified the line signal, and the business is normal, so it can be concluded that the single board is normal.
2, query the manual found that the 62COA switching gain of the maximum 15dB, and -26dBm for the 62COA default locking optical power, so suspected that because of the default locking gain is too large, resulting in the EDFA module alarms. Just adjust the locking power of 62COA to eliminate the alarm.
3, consult the R & D know OSN equipment used on the 62COA is borrowed from the 4.0 platform board, in the 5.0 platform does not have a corresponding command to set the locking power, you can connect the COA to the 2500 + equipment using :cfg-set-coalockpower command to set the locking power can be. Alternatively, you can use the command :ptp:bid,ee,1,1,01,2c,a5 to set the locking power, in which the 6th and 7th parameters are the target power (the command here is to set the locking power to -30dBm, i.e., it is displayed as: -300, and the corresponding parameter is set as: 01,2c ). You can use :ptp:bid,12,ee,1 command to query the current output optical power locked value, the return value is: ncmd 0 : 65 12 ee 01 01 01 00 fa ff where the penultimate and third return value is the current locked power, which is -25dBm in this command.
Root cause
1. 62COA single board failure.
2. Incorrect setting of the veneer parameters causes the veneer to report an alarm.
Suggestions and Summary
1, it is recommended that the R & D can give the 5.0 platform to set the locking power under the relevant host command, in order to open the board tuning test.
2, ptp command to set the locking power that is the output power of the COA veneer, the field set up remember to check before setting and COA output connected to the receiving veneer receiving light range, so as not to cause failure.
3, set the parameters to follow the following principles: set the locking power is not too close to the default locking power. For example, the COA input is -41dBm, the gain is 15dB, the default locking power is -26dBm, in fact, the locking power can be set to -27dBm to eliminate the alarm , but if the line power drops the alarm will reappear , so it is best to combine with the receiving single-board receiving parameters , the locking power can be set to -30dBm.
