OPTIX OSN3500 SS62COA fails to achieve optical power amplification and reports OUT_PWR_ABN alarm
When the input optical power of the Box Fiber Amplifier 62COA is higher than the locked output optical power value, the optical power amplification cannot be achieved, but instead attenuates by 2 dBm. the fault can be eliminated by controlling the power input from the upstream site.
Products
OptiX OSN 3500
Fault Category
OUT_PWR_ABN
Phenomenon Description
When the input signal optical power of the Box Fiber Amplifier 62COA is between -43dBm and -20dBm, but higher than the locked output optical power value, the output optical power attenuates by 2dBm, and the 62COA fails to operate normally.
The device reports the OUT_PWR_ABN alarm.
Cause Analysis
The default locked output optical power of the Box Fiber Amplifier 62COA is -26dBm, and when the input signal optical power of the 62COA is higher than -26dBm, the 62COA cannot work normally.
Operation Procedure
Add an optical power attenuator at the upstream signal transmitting site. It is recommended that the optical power value input to the 62COA is between -39dBm and -26dBm.
Reference
The "Locked Output Optical Power" is only available for the 62COA.
