Description of the problem

Reported when configuring cross-network element client-side 1+1 protection with TOA board on OSN8800 and LQMS on OSN6800: Board type error. Error code: 39313, OSN8800 host version 5.51.07.36 OSN6800 host version: 5.51.5.35.

The specific configuration is as follows:

Working channels: 1010-HLE (OSN8800) 0 subrack 11-54TOA 3 (rx1/TX1)

Protection channel: 567-HLE-YKS direction (OSN6800) 0 subshelf-7-12LQMS 3 (rx1/tx1)

OLP veneer: 1010-HLE (OSN8800) 1 subrack-9-12OLP veneer

Processing

1. Query the OSN8800 user manual description should be no problem: For customer-side 1+1 protection across network elements, the veneer types of the working OTU and the protection OTU can be different. For example, LDX veneer can be configured with TQX veneer.

2. After querying the port service types of the TOA and LQMS veneers in the field, both of which are STM-16, the ports on the customer side have no problem, and the configuration data are normal.

3, as the protection channel board where the host version of the OSN6800 equipment does not support the TOA board caused by the replacement of the TOA with a TOM board after the problem is solved.

Root cause

When configuring customer-side 1+1 protection across network elements, the protection group information will be sent to the main control board of the network element where the main and backup OTU boards are located at the same time, and the on-site OSN6800 version does not support the TOA board, so it cannot be recognized and therefore reports an error.

Solution

1. Replace the TOA board with the branch board or OTU board supported by OSN6800.

2, in the case of the single board can not be replaced, to obtain the consent of the customer can be configured as a third-party vendor equipment configuration customer side 1 +1 protection (not recommended)
