Description of the problem
Nine new Huawei OSN1500B transmission devices are installed in nine N63E cabinets, and the alarms are output to the cabinet top alarm lamps through the ALM port of the AUX single board; on-site, it is found that all the alarm lamps of the OSN 1500B show no alarms, while the yellow lamp of the cabinet top alarm lamp is always on. The failure phenomenon of several cabinets is the same.
Alarm information
All the alarm lamps on the Huawei OSN1500 device show no alarms, and the yellow lamp on the top alarm lamp of the cabinet is always on.
Processing
1. Use the command line :alm-get-curdata:0,0 to query the current alarms of the network element, and the network element does not have any alarms;
2. Check the connecting interface and cable between the network element and the alarm light of the cabinet, and find that OSN 1500B uses the ALM port of the AUX single board to connect with the alarm light on the top of the cabinet; query the product document, and the description of the interface of the AUX single board: the ALM port is a 3-channel input and 1-channel output switching interface, and it is not an interface connecting with the alarm light on the top of the cabinet.
3. The AMU board of OSN1500B provides the interface LAMP1 to transmit alarms to the top of the cabinet, and the AMU board can be plugged into the slot 9 of the subrack; to transmit the equipment alarms of OSN1500B to the top of the cabinet to be displayed on the alarm indicator, you need to configure the AMU board.
4. Borrow an AMU board and connect the LAMP1 port to the cabinet light, and the cabinet light will be displayed normally.
Root Cause
The current network incorrectly believes that the ALM port of the AUX single board is the interface for transmitting network element alarms to the alarm light on the top of the cabinet, while in reality, the ALM port of the AUX single board is a 3-channel input and 1-channel output switching interface, which is not connected to the alarm light on the top of the cabinet. the LAMP1 port of the AMU single board is the output interface for the alarm light of the cabinet.
Solution
The LAMP1 port of the Huawei OSN 1500B AMU board is the output interface of the cabinet alarm light. If you want to transmit the equipment alarms of OSN 1500B to the alarm light on the top of the cabinet, you need to configure an AMU board. Borrow an AMU board and connect the LAMP1 port to the cabinet light, and the cabinet light displays normally.
