Description of the problem

The version upgrade of OSN3500 equipment at a site, from 5.21.13.47 to 5.21.17.31P01 and the supporting version, after the upgrade, some of the tributary services on the N2PQ1 board can not be opened, and the port reports DOWN_E1_AIS alarm, and the pending table test does not work. The ports reported DOWN_E1_AIS alarms, and the table test did not work.

Processing

1. Check the malfunctioning ports and find that they are all ports that were previously set to unloaded;

2. Delete the service and re-create the service, and the problem persists;

3, soft reset the faulty N1PQ1 board, the fault remains;

4, hard reset the faulty N1PQ1 board after troubleshooting;

5, query the relevant version of the characteristics found that the problem is due to the R3 and R7 versions of the DOWN_E1_AIS processing methods leading to failure.

Root cause

Huawei OSN3500 device SSN2PQ1/SSN2PQM/SSNR1PD1/SSR1PL1 single-board V1R3 and previous versions of the software (V1R6 single-board software borrowed from V1R3) and V1R7 and later versions of the software on the down-plug DOWN_E1_AIS alarm register has changed; if the single-board is in the down-plug DOWN_E1_AIS alarm state before upgrading, after upgrading, the single-board is not hardened to the DOWN_E1_AIS alarm state. alarm state before upgrading, and after upgrading, there is no hard reset activation for the single board, then the DOWN_E1_AIS alarm set for the single board at an earlier time is still valid, and thus the DOWN_E1_AIS alarm is not canceled correctly even after the software DOWN_E1_AIS alarm condition is eliminated, which results in the failure of the service to be opened.
