Description of the problem

The Gigabit electrical Ethernet single board N2EGT2 is developed on Huawei OSN3500 device V1R9, which supports two types of interfaces: Gigabit optical interface and Gigabit electrical interface. From the appearance, both optical and electrical interfaces are pluggable SFP modules and are of the same size. Recently, many customers have asked whether the optical/electrical interfaces on the N2EGT2 board are interchangeable. That is to say, whether it is possible to turn the original optical/electrical interface single board into an electrical/optical interface single board by replacing the optical module.

Process

1, a line to try to swap the two interfaces directly, after the swap found that the business does not work;

2、After consulting the R&D, it is confirmed that the two interfaces can be interchanged, but after interchanging the optical/electrical interfaces, it is necessary to set the port attributes through the following command line:

:cfg-replace-port:slot-ID,port-ID,sdh-eport/sdh-opport,ge

for the para3, sdh-eport means the electrical interface module ; sdh-opport means the optical interface module ;

Root cause

At present, there is no description of this in the manual and various materials, and Huawei OSN3500 equipment N2EGT2 board is also the first time to use the SFP optical interface board, the first line and the customer has more questions.
