Why is the configuration lost after power down or hard reset of Huawei OSN3500 devices?
A: OSN products have mdb/drdb/fdb0/fdb1 databases. mdb is in memory, drdb is in reserved memory area, fdb0 is in flash1, and fdb1 is in flash2. Database information is written to mdb and drdb in real time, and backed up to flash at regular intervals, once every half hour by default, the period can be set. The newly issued configuration can be restored from drdb after no power down or soft reset; if power down and reset, and the operation of regular backup to flash has not been executed yet, the newly issued configuration will be lost after reset.
Supplementary notes:
1, OSN3500 device GSCC main control board has 1M in NVRAM (only 7500 is 4M), but NVRAM is not used to save the database.
2, because the host configuration data will be sent down to the single board after successful verification, so the loss of host configuration will cause inconsistency in the host single board configuration data.
3. Avoidance measures: manually issue the command to backup the database to flash before power-down reset
