Description of the problem

A customer needs to create an E-LSP service on N1PEG8, and the network administrator reported an IP address error when creating the tunnel, error code:42161 (see attachment). The customer double-checked the IP and did not find any problem with the IP settings.

Processing

Recovery measures: Set the GCP NODEID in the network element once again according to the GCP NODEID queried from the database. During the setup process, the master and backup master control boards will be reset at the same time, and the packet service may be interrupted for about 10 minutes during the process. After the master reset is completed, the service is automatically restored, the network element operates normally, and a new tunnel can be created (the purpose of which is to reset the GCP NODEID in the database to the system parameter area).

The specific steps for resetting are as follows:

1. query the GCP NODEID in the database. for example:

:cfg-get-gcpnodeidGCP NODEID : 77.77.77.77

2、Reset the GCP NODEID once: :cfg-set-gcpnodeid:77.77.77.77

3、Wait for the master reset, and re-create the tunnel after reset up.

Root solution: In V2R11C00SPC300 and subsequent versions, this problem does not occur.

Root Cause

After R&D, the root cause is confirmed as follows: During the smooth upgrade from Huawei OSN3500 N4GSCC to N6GSCC, the database download process only downloads the database of the configuration plane, but not the database of the system parameter area (the GCP NODEID of the checksum in the PTN is saved in the system parameter area).

After the N4 smooth upgrade to N6, the previous GCP NODEID (i.e. LSR ID) is not synchronized to the new master, and the system parameter area of the new master is an invalid value by default. Therefore, after the master upgrade is completed, it will cause the new tunnel to fail and return IP incorrect.

Suggestion and Summary

After this problem occurs in the current network, it can only be solved with recovery measures.
