Description of the problem
A frontline engineer fails to create a new MPLS tunnel on an OSN3500 network element, returning error code 42161 (IP address error)
Host version: V2R11C00SPC100
Alarm message
No
Processing
Reset the GCP NODEID once on the network element according to the GCP NODEID queried from the database
The steps to reset the GCP NODEID are as follows:
1) Query the database for the GCP NODEID, for example:
:cfg-get-gcpnodeid
GCP NODEID : 77.77.77.77
2) Reset the GCP NODEID once:
:cfg-set-gcpnodeid:77.77.77.77
3) Wait for the master to reset, and after it resets up, check if the new tunnel is successful.
Root Cause
A software defect causes that after smoothing N4GSCC to N6GSCC or N6GSCC to N4GSCC, the previous GCP NODEID is not synchronized to the new master, and the system parameter area of the new master is an invalid value by default. Therefore, after the master smoothing upgrade is completed, it will cause the new tunnel to fail and return IP incorrect.
Suggestion and Summary
According to the GCP NODEID queried from the database, reset it once on the network element
Using V2R11C00SPC300 and later V2R11 versions for N6 and N4 interchanging can solve this problem.
