HP_TIM alarm in Ethernet service of OSN3500 Huawei SDH equipment

Phenomenon Description

When configuring Ethernet services, the values of J1 bytes due to send and due to receive in the high-order channel overhead are the same, but Ethernet veneer boards EGT2 and EFS0 both generate HP_TIM alarms.

Cause Analysis

After the Ethernet service is configured, the Ethernet boards at both ends generate HP_TIM alarms. Check the J1 byte in single-byte mode in the overhead management interface of the T2000, and the J1 byte of receivable and transmittable are the same (you need to select the hexadecimal display). If you expand the J1 byte to 16 bytes, you find that the values are different. If you change the transmit value of one Ethernet board, the receive value of the other board is unchanged.

Operation Procedure

  1. Set the J1 value to be received by the RX Ethernet board in VC-4 on the SDH line board of the TX Ethernet board. the HP_TIM alarm disappears.

Reference message

The J1 value receivable by the RX Ethernet board should be set in VC-4 on the SDH line board of the TX Ethernet board. Change the transmit and receivable values on the SDH path to avoid HP_TIM alarms on the line.
