Product Highlights

OSN1500 equipment adopts packet transmission technology to realize efficient statistical multiplexing of data services and effectively reduce the transmission cost of each bit service; at the same time, it inherits the advantages of SDH, provides Native bearer for TDM services and effectively ensures high-quality voice service transmission. It realizes unified scheduling of packet and TDM services and builds flexible application modes: pure packet mode, pure TDM mode and mixed mode (packet + TDM). The three modes can be expanded through the service board level to realize smooth conversion, so that the most suitable mode is always used to meet the development requirements of the operator's service and network, and it is convenient for the operator to follow the technological development and the maturity of the industrial chain to make step-by-step smooth investment.


Product Characteristics

The OptiX OSN 1500 adopts a "dual-core" architecture, allowing it to be used as both a packet device and a TDM device. Together with other Huawei devices, the OptiX OSN 1500 supports different networking applications: pure packet mode applications, hybrid networking applications (packet mode), and TDM applications.

(stacked packet mode and TDM mode), and pure TDM mode applications, realizing optimal processing of data services and traditional SDH services.


Flexible Networking

  • In the above typical network, OptiX OSN 1500 or OptiX OSN 500/550 are generally used for access layer equipment; OptiX OSN 3500/7500/7500 II are generally used for aggregation/backbone layer equipment.
  • At the access layer, SDH services are transmitted on STM-1/STM-4 rings; packet Ethernet services are transmitted on GE rings. At backbone/aggregation layer, SDH services are transmitted on STM-16/STM-64 ring; packet Ethernet services are transmitted on 10GE ring.
  • SDH services on the traditional TDM domain and Ethernet services on the packet domain are transmitted independently.
  • In the TDM domain, OptiX OSN devices use end-to-end TDM service protection; in the packet domain, OptiX OSN devices use end-to-end Tunnel/PW protection, which meets the requirement of 50ms fast changeover.

MSTP Features

Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP) is a kind of Spanning Tree Protocol, which is compatible with STP/RSTP and makes up for the defects of STP/RSTP protocol.


OSN1500 Protection Features

1、Equipment level protection

The crossover, clock and master control units are provided by CXL series single boards, which adopt 1+1 hot backup to protect the crossover unit, clock unit and master control unit at the same time.

  • Working board and protection board slots: slot 4 and slot 5
  • Reversal conditions (can be reversed if one condition is met)
    • Work board not in position
    • Board soft reset
    • Board hard reset
    • Board hardware failure
    • Reverse command issued
  • Recovery mode: non-recovery. The protection board is the current working board after inversion. When the original working board is restored to normal, it will not be restored automatically, and the current working board is still the original protection board.

2、Power protection

Two PIU single boards can simultaneously feed two -48V/-60V DC power supply. The two power supplies are backup for each other, any one of them fails, the other one will be put into operation, so as to ensure the normal operation of the equipment.

When the two external power supply voltages are equal, the two PIU single boards as backup each share half of the current.

When the difference between the two external power supply voltages of the device is greater than 0.7V, the PIU single board with higher external voltage bears the total current of the device, and no current passes through the PIU single board with lower external voltage. When only one PIU veneer is working, the subrack power supply is not affected.


3、Network level protection

Tunnel APS refers to setting up a Tunnel to protect the working Tunnel, so that when the working Tunnel fails, the service can be inverted to the protection Tunnel to achieve the purpose of protecting the service.

PW APS refers to setting another PW to protect the working PW, when the working PW fails, the service can be switched to the protection PW to protect the service.

The traditional network mainly realizes protection for service access point failure or intermediate service network failure. When both the service access point and the intermediate service network fail, the LPT (Link State Pass Through) function can be enabled to utilize the backup network for communication to ensure the normal transmission of services.


Built-in WDM technology

OSN1500 transmission equipment supports built-in WDM technology, which realizes the transmission of multiple wavelengths in a single optical fiber, and can realize the flexible networking scheme with WDM equipment.

  • It supports the up and down of DWDM standard wavelengths to meet ITU-T G.694.1 recommendations.
  • Supports the up and down of CWDM standard wavelengths recommended by ITU-T G.694.2.
  • Optical divide-and-multiplex single board has cascade ports for capacity expansion, which can realize multi-wavelength up and down by cascading.
  • Support Raman amplification system to realize long-distance signal transmission.
  • Supports Automatic Gain Control (AGC) technology so that the gain variation of the signals of each working wavelength is within the permissible range under various operating conditions.
  • Support Forward Error Correction technology (Forward Error Correction), can correct the information transmission process generated in the error code, improve the receiving end of the optical signal noise tolerance, extend the distance of the relay section.

Common Configuration

Common Configurations: SSRK000AFB01 subrack, EOW official processing board, SSR2AUX system auxiliary interface board and SSR1PIUB power access board are the four function boards that must be configured in OSN1500 equipment. Service optional configuration commonly used master cross optical interface unity boards are Q5CXLL1, Q5CXLL4, Q5CXLL16, Q5CXLLN, Q5CXLQ41, etc.; while supporting a variety of rate SDH single boards, such as SL4, SLQ1, SLD4, SLQ16, SL16, SL64, etc.; support for multi-service PDH processing boards, such as PL1, PD1, PQ1, etc.; supports various Ethernet pass-through boards, such as EFS4, EFT8, EFS0, EGS4, EGT2, etc.; supports other auxiliary classes and wave classification single boards, etc.


Physical Characteristics

The OptiX OSN 1500B has a double-layer structure, with the upper layer being the slot area for the outgoing boards and power supply boards, with a total of 6 slots, and the lower layer being the slot area for the processing boards and auxiliary single boards, with a total of 11 slots when the slots are not disassembled; and 14 slots after disassembling. The slots are distributed in a corresponding relationship, including the corresponding relationship between the slots of the outlet board and the slots of the processing board, and the corresponding relationship of the pairwise slots.

The single board slot distribution of OptiX OSN 1500B:

  • Line, master, crossover and clock combined board slots: slot 4 to 5
  • Service processing single board slots before slot splitting: slots 6 to 9, slots 11 to 13
  • Service processing board slots after slot splitting: slots 1 to 9, slots 11 to 13
  • Business interface board slots: slots 14 to 17
  • Business board slot: slot 9 (can double as processing board slot)
  • Auxiliary interface board slot: slot 10
  • Power supply board slots: slots 18, 19
  • Fan slot: slot 20
