After OSN1500 adds and removes cross-connections for FE services, ETH_LOS alarms are reported on EFS4 boards at some sites. The fault can be resolved by disabling unused MAC ports.
Phenomenon Description
OSN1500 deploys some FE services between sites in the U2000 network management center as needed, and adds and deletes some cross-connections for FE services. After the service provisioning is finished, ETH_LOS alarms are reported on the EFS4 single boards in some sites.
Cause Analysis
During the provisioning process, alarms appear after adding and deleting some FE services, so the fault can be localized to these FE services.
Operation Steps
- Check the FE service between two sites as an example, and find that after adding the FE service normally, the corresponding EFS4 board does not report the ETH_LOS alarm.
- Check the paths of the FE services that report ETH_LOS alarms and find that these paths have been deleted during the provisioning and maintenance process, and in fact these paths no longer exist.
- Log in to T2000 network management and select "Network Element Manager". Select the FE service corresponding to the ETH_LOS alarm, check the port properties of the corresponding EFS4 board, and find that the "Port Enable" setting of the deleted service is set to "Allow", but at this time, there is no access to the customer-side signals, so the board reports the ETH_LOS alarm incorrectly. ETH_LOS alarm is reported.
- Set the "Port Enable" corresponding to the deleted service to "Disable", check and confirm the alarm again, and the ETH_LOS alarm disappears.
- Check all the Ethernet boards with ETH_LOS alarms, and find that the failure is caused by the same reason. Set "Port Enable" to "Disable" on the board where the Ethernet service has been deleted, and the ETH_LOS alarm disappears.
