There are three versions of SL4 boards: R1, N1, and N2, and the main difference between the three versions is whether or not they support the TCM function and AU-3 service, in which the R1SL4 is a one-way STM-4 optical interface board for the small board position, and it is used in the sub-slot when the subrack slot is split. the N1SL4 board is discontinued.

The single-board characterization code is the code located after the single-board name in the single-board barcode.The single-board characterization code of the SL4 is used to describe the type of optical interface.
