The WDM side supports AFEC-2 encoding in accordance with the recommendations of ITU-T G.975.1.

| Performance Surveillance and Alarm Monitoring |
- Provides BIP8 byte monitoring (burst mode) to locate line faults.
- Provides B1 byte monitoring to locate line faults.
- Supports OTN performance monitoring and alarm monitoring.
- Provides the following monitoring functions: laser bias current monitoring, laser operating temperature monitoring, optical power monitoring, etc.
- Provides Ethernet (10GE LAN) RMON monitoring function.
