Modify the network elementID
The Optix OSN1500 ECC protocol uses the network element ID as a unique identifier for network elements. During network planning, each network element must be assigned a unique network element ID; if the network element ID conflicts, it will cause ECC routing conflicts, resulting in some network elements being unmanageable. When you need to adjust the original planning and modify the network element ID during the process of testing or capacity expansion, you can modify it through the U2000.When the master control of OptiX OSN series devices has not set the IP address, the IP address changes with the network element ID when you set the network element ID. However, after setting the IP address once, the IP address does not change with the ID when setting the network element ID.
Prerequisites
The user has the privilege of being a network administrator in the "Maintainer Group" or higher.
A network element has been created.
Note
Caution:
Modifying the network element ID is a hazardous operation and may result in interruption of network element communication and reboot of the network element.
Procedure
Select the network element in the Optix OSN1500 Network Element Manager, and choose Configuration > Network Element Properties in the Function Tree.
Click Modify Network Element ID. The Modify Network Element ID dialog box pops up.
