Problem Description

Recently the company's OptiX OSN 7500/3500/2500/1500A/1500B series veneers are scheduled to be discontinued and replaced with new veneers. The veneers involved are [ N1SLQ16_N3SL16A_N1SLQ4A_N1SLD4A_N1SL4A_N1SLT1_N1SLQ1A_N1SL1A_

N1SLH1_N1PQM_N2PQ1_N1SXCSA_N1SXCSB ]. When the field engineer uses the newly shipped veneer, he finds that the veneer software is mismatched and reports SWDL_CHGMNG_NOMATCH/SWDL_NEPKGCHECK alarms, and the veneer cannot be downgraded with toolkit.

After communicating with the customer, the alarm was blocked.

Root cause

The B2 veneer belongs to the R9 supporting vertical switching veneer, field engineers found that the software mismatch is actually inaccurate, in the latest version of the matching table in the lower part of the matching software version of the B2 veneer. the host software before the R8 will be reported to the SWDL_CHGMNG_NOMATCH /SWDL_NEPKGCHECK [software mismatch alarm]. and this Class B2 veneer does not support downgrading.

Please be careful not to use FTP to force downgrade, otherwise the board will be damaged!

This alarm will not affect the use of the board and can be blocked.

Suggestions and Summary

Class B2 veneer identification method:

When loading the software at board level, please check the board type first. Please note that for OSN veneer upgrade, if you use Toolkit board level loading or Navigator loading, you must check the real type of veneer first to determine the correct version. Try to use the latest analog package or packages to reduce the chance of error.

If you are in the field, look directly at the pull-tab label. Look out for the veneer model number followed by B2.

You can also use cfg-get-bddetailinfo to show the real model number of the veneer and the B2 code. (However, this command is not supported by low version hosts .)

If you check the manufacturing information of the veneer, because of the company's standard requirements, it will not display B2 and other characteristic codes in the manufacturing information, you need to see the 2 digits behind the name of the veneer and the BOM code, and then go to the version matching table to check out the real type of the veneer, in order to determine the correct version of the software.
