Problem Description

Customer feedback, a bureau OSN350016 board SSN1EFT8 single board, 35 slots newly inserted ETF8 interface board, expansion to 16FE interfaces, cross board for UXCSA, EFT8 configuration service binding bandwidth time slot can not see the bandwidth of the 4th -8thVC4 time slots, the channel map view can only be used in the first 4VC4.

1. The original ETF8 interface board is not configured, and it is added in this expansion. However, the allocation of bus bandwidth is determined by the capacity of the cross-board and has no relationship with the interface board, so the interface board is excluded first.

2, first check the SSEFT8 board failure factors, find a spare board to replace 16-EFT8, the failure phenomenon remains, the spare board and replace the EFT8 inserted into another OSN3500 (using the same cross board UXCSA ) 16 board position can see all 8VC4, bound bandwidth time slot is also normal, to rule out the failure of the EFT8 board.

3, asked the customer what recent operations on the device and what abnormal alarms reported by the device, such as BUS_ERR, BD_STATUS, etc. The customer said that the original use of the GX350 (using the same crossover board UXCSA) is not a good choice. The customer said that the original use of the GXCSA single board, in order to EFT8 expansion of 16FE interfaces, upgrade and replace SSGXCSA for SSUXCSA. engineers on-site replacement and upgrade success, the customer directly in the network management to change the network elements into the pre-configuration and then delete the GXCSA to create a new UXCSA, cancel the pre-configuration is not issued. The customer operation is not standardized, after uploading the data, the network management query again, you can see that the bound bandwidth time slot is normal, the channel map can also be seen after 4VC4, the problem is solved.

Root Cause

SSN1EFT8 is a bandwidth-adjustable single board, with interface board when a total of 16FE interfaces, bandwidth has 8VC4 1.25GBit/s, without interface board when a single board pulls the handles out of the 8FE interfaces, bandwidth has a minimum of 4VC4 622MBit/s. OSN3500 using GXCSA cross when 16 board bits allocated bus bandwidth 622Mbit/s, using the E/UXCSA when 16 board bits allocated bus 1.25Gbit/s, using SXCSA/IXCSA when allocated bus bandwidth 5Gbit/s. According to the above, the customer uses UXCSA crossover, 35 slots can be configured with ETF8 interface boards, the 16 board bits should have a bandwidth of 1.25Gbit/s, and should normally be able to see 8VC4 time slots of EFT8. Preliminary judgment of single board failure or cross board allocation of single board bus bandwidth failure.

1, OSN3500 equipment upgrades to replace the cross board must be based on the cross board single board replacement guidebook in accordance with the steps.

2、After changing the configuration on the site of the network element, the network management should do the upload to keep the data on the side of the network element and the side of the network management consistent.

3, pre-configured network elements, change the type of cross board, network management side of the network element bandwidth bus will not be refreshed, cancel the pre-configuration, although the board configuration is the same, but the network element measurement and the network management side of the single board bus bandwidth is different.
