Problem description
When OSN3500 is directly upgraded to 5.21.18.44 from 5.21.12.43 using analog packet loading, activation after loading is complete, where SSN1GXCSA activation fails and the single board enters the BIOS state
Alarm message
None
Processing
Check the version of SSN1GXCSA cross board in the original version 5.21.12.43: Base BIOS:2.13, Extended BIOS:2.22, Single Board Software :2.15, FPGA:330.
After R&D analysis, the 2.13 version of the base BIOS does not support loading the 8.11 version of SSN1GXCSA software in 5.21.18.44, but supports loading the V1R7 or other lower version of the cross-board software.
To be safe, first upgrade the single board software, extended BIOS and FPGA of the cross-board to version 6.31, 2.31 and 410(SSN1GXCSA cross-board supporting version software of V1R7C02B017 (5.21.17.31)), then upgrade the basic BIOS version to 2.14, and then load the single board software of 8.11, and the upgrade is successful.
Root Cause
The main reasons for upgrade failure into the BIOS state are:
1, single board hardware problems
2、Single board software loading error
3, the single board software itself has errors
4, single board software and the basic BIOS version does not match
Suggestions and summaries
Before upgrading to version 5.21.18.44, please make sure that the base BIOS of SSN1GXCSA is version 2.14 or later.
