Problem Description

1、OSN7500 host version is: 5.21.31.35;

2、The network element is configured with only two kinds of service boards: N1PEX2 and N1PEG8; PEX2 is in the aggregation ring that aggregates the lower-layer services, and PEG8 sends the services to the RNC through the connection with the router.

3. Although the network is an MSTP device, it has only pure PTN services, carrying data services aggregated from the base station to the RNC.

1. In Network Element Manager, select Configuration, select Interface Management, configure the basic attributes of Ethernet interfaces, change the port mode of 8-N1PEX2-Port1 from Layer 2 to Layer 3, and then get an error after application. Error cause: The port is occupied by the service.

2. Suspecting the existence of tunnel service, filter the ports of the corresponding single board of this network element as source node, intermediate node, and host node through the filtering conditions in the tunnel management, and there is no corresponding tunnel, and there is no corresponding tunnel when queried in the discrete tunnel management;

3, check the fiber-optic connection to the opposite end of the network element, there is also no configuration of tunnel, but the optical board can change the port mode from Layer 2 to Layer 3;

4, analyze the current port since the second layer, then it can not be configured for layer three tunnel service, so the above query idea is not right, because the business on the network are Ethernet private network services, so suspect that the port is configured in the uni, check the network element of all the private network services, and found that there is a private network services will be uni port configured as 8-N1PEX2-Port1 I found that one of the private network services had configured the uni port as 8-N1PEX2-Port1;

5, because PEX2 are 10GE ports, corresponding to the NNI interface between the network elements, the service is the configuration of the staff to choose the wrong result, delete the private network services, and then reconfigure the port mode of 8-N1PEX2-Port1, success.

Root Cause

1. If the network port attribute is Layer 2 and the port is occupied, you should check whether the port is configured as a UNI interface;

2、If the network port attribute is Layer 3 and the port is occupied, you should check if the port is configured as a TUNNEL.

The PTN service is very different from the previous SDH service, and the problem should be analyzed according to the corresponding concepts in the maintenance process.
