Problem Description

A new OSN3500 device is shipped with version 5.21.X.X, which does not meet the version normalization requirements of the current network. The wrong package was loaded during the upgrade process resulting in the main control board not being able to start and the network elements not being able to log in.

The red circle in the attached picture shows the 4 short wires of the deleted software, the connector code is: J8.J9.J10.J11, in the side of the puller bar, the middle of the single board.

1, pull out the main control board, looking for 4 jumper caps connected to the 4 connectors (remember to connect horizontally, look at the connector code connection, do not connect the wrong);

2, wait 15 minutes, the main control board software is automatically deleted (do not insert back into the sub-frame, through the single board on the battery power to perform the wipe library operation);

3, the four jumper caps removed, the main control inserted into the subrack, the single board start loading, the panel alarm light SRV light is always on (red ), other alarm lights all out, said the single board software has been deleted;

4, if unsuccessful, you can try more than once, or not if you can only report to the repair.

Root cause

At present, NG SDH series products have vertical switching function, when upgrading, you need to load the software package with EXT in the file name, but before that, you can directly use the software package saved by yourself (the file name is not with EXT ). Loading the wrong software package causes the main control board can not recognize itself, so the network element can not be logged in, and can only be dealt with by replacing the main control or wiping the library on site.

Suggestions and Summary

1, the jumper cap is difficult to find, the single board pink circle on the 3 jumper cap, you can unplug to receive J8.J9.J10.J11, will not affect the single board, but inserted back into the sub-frame, be sure to restore;

2、Upgrade need to download the correct software package, the same software version may also exist under the different software packages, you need to choose correctly.
