Problem Description
Frequent transient SYNC_FAIL alarms are reported on the SSN4GSCC master board of the OSN7500 device, master version 5.21.19.22P01.
Alarm information
SYNC_FAIL
Processing
To be solved by upgrading the device master version to R9C04SPC200.
Root cause
1. SYNC_FAIL alarm is reported when the master backup batch fails.
2, SSN4GSCC single-board hardware modified the PHY chip address of the three ports, and the smooth upgrade requirements of MSTP , you must configure the new SSN4GSCC single-board main and backup ports into 10M half-duplex mode; the change of the PHY chip address, resulting in the configuration of the main and backup ports of the BSP10M half-duplex is actually configured as an inter-board communication port.
3, the inter-board communication should be in 100M full-duplex mode. Setting it to 10M half-duplex mode due to the above reasons will lead to low communication efficiency in the intranet and unstable link, which will result in the instantaneous reporting of SYNC_FAIL alarm.
Recommendation and Summary
This fault only exists in SSN4GSCC single board.
