Problem Description

A bureau newly opened OSN1500 device, manually created this this network element through the network administrator, when querying the physical board position, the physical board position (including the master board itself) cannot be displayed. The query via command line :cfg-get-phybd fails. The network element could not be created.

Alarm message

Querying with command line :cfg-get-phybd returns null

Processing

1、Use the single master working mode to create network elements, the fault phenomenon is still the same;

2、After replacing the main control board, the network element is created, and the network element is created successfully;

3, the collection of the original failure of the main control board database to analyze, found that the main control board database is damaged, the following operations can be restored to the main control board:

a. Delete the database by issuing the following commands to the master and backup master boards respectively;

:dbms-delete-database:all,drdb,master

:dbms-delete-database:all,fdb0,master

:dbms-delete-database:all,fdb1,master

:dbms-delete-database:all,fdb1,slave

:dbms-delete-database:all,fdb0,slave

:dbms-delete-database:all,drdb,slave

b. Reset the main and backup master boards respectively, which can be recovered;

4、Original faulty master board delete database, reset, can be normal creation of network elements;

Root cause

1, the main control board and other single board communication failure;

2. OSN1500 motherboard problems;

3, the main control board database is damaged, resulting in physical board position can not be queried (the database returns to the R & D, after analysis, the cause of the failure of the main and backup main control board database in the synchronization when the unplugging or power failure operation, resulting in damage to the main control board database);

Suggestions and Summary

It is recommended that when the new OSN1500 device fails to query the physical board position, the database can be deleted, and then the main control board can be reset to recover.
