OSN9800 TNU3N402 Single Board Indicator Parameters

The signal flow direction of the OptiX OSN 9800 N402 veneer can be categorized into transmit direction and receive direction, i.e., the N402 veneer is in the transmit direction from the backplane to the WDM side, and vice versa for the receive direction.


Transmit direction

The OTN processing module receives the ODUk signals dispatched from the cross-board via the backplane, completes the operations of OTN framing and FEC coding processing within the module, and outputs two OTU4 signals.

The OTU4 signals are sent to the WDM side optical module, and after E/O conversion, the OTU4 optical signals conforming to the DWDM standard wavelength recommended by ITU-T G.694.1 are sent out from the optical ports "OUT1" to "OUT2".

Receiving direction

The WDM-side optical module receives OTU4 optical signals of DWDM standard wavelengths recommended by ITU-T G.694.1 from the WDM-side optical ports "IN1" to "IN2" to complete O/E conversion.

The O/E-converted signal enters the OTN processing module, completes the operations of OTU4 framing and FEC decoding within the module, and outputs the ODUk signal to the backplane for cross-scheduling.

Description:
  • ULH+ (ultra long haul plus) ,LH (long haul) ,SLH (super long haul ) and Metro (Metro) denote the transmission distance of the optical module, and their transmission distances are compared as follows: SLH>ULH+>LH>Metro.
  • wDCM denotes with DCM.
  • T5x (SDFEC2, QPSK) can only be used in pure coherent network; T6x (SDFEC2,QPSK,wDCM) can be used in 10G/40G non-coherent mixed transmission network, and also can be used in pure coherent network (but its transmission distance is shorter than that of T5x, and it is not recommended to use).
Note: For early warning considerations, the threshold default values for the input optical power too low and input optical power too high alarms of the network management leave a certain margin on the basis of the sensitivity and overload point of the single board.
