OSN9800 Ultra 100 Gbit/s WDM Transmission System Technology Development and Application Analysis

In ultra 100G pure coherent network, OptiX OSN 9800 adopts advanced coherent detection technology, which does not need to configure additional dispersion compensation module for CD and PMD compensation. Through the discussion and technical analysis on the progress of ultra 100 Gbit/s WDM transmission technology, the proposed ultra 100 Gbit/s WDM system solution in line with China's transmission network can help designers, especially network planners, to recognize the future development direction of ultra 100 Gbit/s WDM transmission system, and to plan and design the corresponding network foundation in advance.

Efficient Bandwidth Utilization

Huawei's ultra-100 Gbit/s coherent transmission solution ensures efficient bandwidth utilization and reduces per-bit transmission costs by supporting multiple services and rate access and ODUflex technology.

  • It supports a wide range of services and rates of access and carries them over a 200G transmission channel.
  • Optical Layer Spectral Wide: 200G and 400G signals are compatible with traditional 50GHz applications, which improves the spectral efficiency by up to 100% over the corresponding 100G signaling system. In addition, 200G and 400G signals can support flexible grid applications, which can obtain higher spectral utilization than fixed spectral width systems.
  • Layer scheduling: Flexible bandwidth adjustment and scheduling is realized with ODUflex technology.

Long Distance Transmission

Super 100 Gbit/s coherent transmission solution adopts 16QAM/QPSK technology, combined with multi-carrier light source technology and coherent DSP/SDFEC algorithm to realize long-distance transmission without relay.

  • 16QAM/QPSK

    Through 16QAM/QPSK, dual-carrier technology, the baud rate of optical signals is reduced on the basis of not reducing the line rate, thus reducing the spectral bandwidth of optical signals and overcoming the bandwidth limitation of transmission devices.

  • Coherent reception technology

    Enhance system OSNR as well as receiver sensitivity through coherent reception.

  • Error Correction Coding Technology

    Huawei's ultra-100 Gbit/s transmission solution provides SDFEC coding technology. Through more advanced algorithms, the net coding gain is increased and the transmission distance is improved.
