Description of the problem

Huawei OSN2500 devices, with boards configured as ssn2pq1 in slots 6, 7, and 13, ssn1eft8 in slot 8, and SSQ5CXLL16 in slots 9 and 10, are expanding ssn1slq4 boards in slots 11 and 12 respectively, and after inserting any one ssn1slq4 board, all other boards of the device show BD_STATUS, COMMUN_FAIL and other alarms appear on all other boards of the equipment, and the bearer service fails.

Processing

1. Expansion of single board failure, but expansion of two single board failure at the same time, unlikely;

2, analyze the data, found that every time the failure of the 10-slot spare CXL board has a reset phenomenon, suspect that the single board failure caused; at the same time, analyze the black box data, found that the 8-slot EFT board data communication is abnormal, it may also be the board caused by the interface failure;

3, due to the equipment has a high temperature experience in the early stage, doubt that the motherboard may be due to high temperature resulting in poor contact.

4, power supply problems, the scene through the two UPM-GIE4805S to the device for power supply.

Solution

1, on-site processing, first pull out the 10-slot CXL board, expansion SLQ4, found that all can be expanded normally, indicating that the SLQ4 single board is normal; replacement of the 10-slot CXL board, inserted into the single board, the failure reproduced, indicating that the 10-slot CXL board is normal;

2, replace the 8-slot EFT board, the phenomenon remains;

3, replace the equipment frame, the phenomenon remains;

4, one by one insertion and removal of the single board test, did not find a single board abnormal, while the test found that 8-slot EFT or 10-slot CXL or 9-slot CXL as long as there is a single board is not inserted, the device can work normally.

5, analyze the power consumption of the device, according to the current situation of inserting the board, the actual power consumption of the device is 236W, check the UPM-GIE4805S information, 4805 single module with load capacity of 270W, fully meet the power requirements of the device.

6, turn off the equipment PIU all the way to power supply, found that the equipment can not work properly, a lot of single board does not start; turn off the other way PIU power supply, the phenomenon is the same, the judgment may be the customer's external power problems or external UPM failure.

7, check the customer's external power supply, the customer's external power supply at the same time to other switches, routers and MSAP power supply are normal, judgment should be UPM problems. Remove the UPM check, found in the UPM side of the power output connection error, UPM side of a total of three output terminals, respectively, LOAD1 (LOAD1 interface), LOAD2 (LOAD2 interface), BAT (battery interface), the scene of the equipment power supply into the BAT interface, the interface's output current index ≤ 3A, so it can not meet the equipment power requirements, the equipment power supply into the LOAD1 port, the equipment power supply into the BAT port, the equipment can not meet the demand for power. After connecting the power supply of the device to the LOAD1 port, the device worked normally and the problem was solved.
