Description of the problem

A local network V2R3T2000 Network Manager prompts "SNCP protection group ID is illegal" when creating a service; service path activation fails. Through localization, it is found that 2016 SNCP services already exist on a version 13.47 Huawei OSN3500 device in the central office.

Processing

The host of the version 13.47 Huawei OSN3500 device can only support 2016 SNCP service pairs, and if it exceeds 2016, the SNCP protection group ID will exceed the limit, resulting in the service being unable to be configured. The bureau's networking is SNCP ring through the form of SNCP ring under the expansion subrack under the service, which will seriously waste SNCP ID resources, and ultimately lead to the exhaustion of SNCP ID resources.

Solution

1. Configure the path from the Huawei OSN3500 device to other sites, and the problem remains the same; rule out problems at other sites.

2. Upgrade the V2R3 network management to V2R4, and the problem remains; therefore, put the idea on the SNCP service processing capability of Huawei OSN3500 devices.

3, query case SC0000216401 learned that the 13.47 version of the OSN 7500 host can only support 2016 SNCP services, using the command :cfg-add-sncppg query, returned the following information:

4. Through consulting with R&D, we learned that hosts of version 5.21.16.13P02 and later will support 8064 SNCP services; this is solved by upgrading to version 5.21.16.13P02 of R6 and applying the NGSDH V100R006 C02B012SPH001 (5.21.16.13SPH001) hotfix.

Suggestion and Summary

1. In this case, if the network is adjusted to MSP ring through the 1j1MSP protection chain under the expansion subrack, half of the SNCP ID resources can be saved, and the problem can be solved temporarily. However, due to the abnormal business urgency, coupled with the backbone ring on the network adjustment workload, the risk is very large; therefore, the first to take the version upgrade to solve the problem.

2. It is recommended to increase the checking of SNCP ID in the inspection tool and give corresponding processing suggestions for the use of SNCP resources.
