Description of the problem
Huawei OSN1500 host software 5.21.30.14, dual-plane networking scheme (TDM and packet plane). On a certain day, one OSN1500 device (gateway network element) could not be managed by network management, but both TDM and packet services were running normally.
The network management reported NE_NOT_LOGIN and NE_COMMU_BREAK alarms.
Processing
Possible reasons why the gateway network element cannot log in:
1. There is a problem with the network cable from the device's ETH management port to the router.
2. There is a problem with the DCN network between the network management server and the site.
3. The network element IP address and gateway address of the gateway network element have been changed incorrectly.
4. Other problems.
Solutions
Check that there is no problem with the network cable after entering the station.
Checking the DCN network between the network management server and the station is also fine.
PING the IP address of the device with a portable directly connected to the device's ETH management port, and the operation fails. Try to set the address of the laptop to different network segments and search for the IP address of the device with Navigator, but the IP address of the device cannot be searched.
In the case of not being able to log in, try to hard reset the main master board, when the master and backup are reversed, the network administrator can log in the device normally. A few days later the same problem occurred again.
It was found that in the DCC management item, the bytes D1-D3 of all line board ports in the TDM plane are ENABLE and use the HWECC protocol type, and in the DCN management item, the DCN status items of all packetized veneer boards in the packet plane are ENABLE, and some of the ports use the IP protocol type and some of the ports use the HWECC protocol type. When OSN1500 uses both in-band DCN and DCC as the communication method between network elements and uses different protocol types, the main control board will hang after running for a period of time. This site is because the newly expanded packetized boards do not set the protocol type to use the default IP mode, resulting in inconsistent protocol types and the master control hangs.
Suggestions and Summary
It is recommended that MSTP + equipment bi-planar networking as far as possible with a network element to communicate between the two ways, if both ways need to be uniformly set to a protocol type - HWECC or IP.
