Description of the problem
After the OSN3500 device GSCC R8C02B01k is upgraded to R10C03SPC200, the standby master (the main master before the upgrade, which has had a master/standby reversal due to the fpga upgrade) enters the bios state. The master reports the BIOS_STATUS alarm (the first parameter indicates the single board slot number of the bios state) and the COMMUN_FAIL alarm.
Processing
See Problem Causes and Solutions.
Root cause
During the upgrade process, the ne.pkg of the R8 version of the original standby master was not cleared (the R8 packet clearing command :sftm-clr-pkg:0 will not clear the packet of the standby master), which led to the ne.pkg residue of the standby master to become the main master after the packet loading of the ne.pkg, which triggered the auto-matching function of the packet loading. Some software such as 3500app.hwx was deleted after the original master became the standby master, and the master could not boot into the bios state normally after the reset at the end of the synchronization.
Solution
1. Use navigator to clear the package loading information on the main master now :sftm-clr-pkg:0
2、 Go to the site and log in the backup master with COM port, delete ofs1/pkg, ofs2/pkg, mfs/pkg.
3、 Delete all files in the ofs1/hwx, ofs2/hwx. directory of the backup master.
4. Copy all files in ofs1/hwx, ofs2/hwx from the master to the corresponding folder in the standby master.
5. Plug and unplug the backup master.
Recommendations and summary
Clear the package for both the primary and backup masters before upgrading.
