OSN3500 PEG8 version mismatch causes PWE3 service test traffic anomaly

Description of the problem

The PWE3 service is opened between the PEG8 single board of OSN7500 and the PEG8 of another OSN7500. use the meter to send the test data with packet length 600 from end A to end B. Through RMON monitoring. the RMON of the GE port of end A can see that the number of received packets (512-1023) is around 16000 packets/second; And the number of packets sent on GE port of B end corresponding to the packet length is 0.

OSN7500 version is 5.21.31.65.


Processing

1、Maybe the TUNNEL in the middle does not work;

2、The PW in the middle does not work;

3, QOS configuration or insufficient remaining bandwidth;

4, other reasons.

Root cause

Mismatch of data veneer versions at both ends


Solution

1, respectively, A and B end of the TUNNEL and PW ping test, the test is all normal, indicating that the intermediate channel is not abnormal;

2、Check the configuration of PW and TUNNEL, and the CIR of each station of this PWE3 service is configured as 100M;

3, check the B end of the PEG8 board has opened a number of services, while the A end of the PEG8 board is the first time on the business, suspect that the board is a newly inserted board, check the board version found to be 1.52, and OSN 7500 corresponding to the host version of version 5.21.31.65 version of the PEG8 board version should be 3.14;

4, the use of integrated in the U2000 in the network element software upgrade function, load the software of the single board, and supporting the table check, only the PEG8 version is low, after upgrading, the meter again send packet test, the B end of the GE port RMON look at the number of packets sent (512-1023) has also reached 16,000 packets / sec.

Recommendations and Summary
