Introduces two common generic alerts for the optix metro1000: AIS and RDI.
| Alarm name | Explanation: AIS (Alarm Indication Signal) |
|---|---|
| AIS (Alarm Indication Signal) Alarm |
Inserting a full "1" to the next level circuit informs that the signal is not available. Common AIS alarms include MS_AIS, AU_AIS, TU_AIS, and AIS alarm for E1/T1 signals. |
| RDI (Remote Defect Indication) Alarms |
RDI (Remote Defect Indication) is an alarm that indicates that the opposite end station detects LOS (Loss Of Signal), AIS, TIM (Trace Identifier Mismatch) and other alarms and transmits them back to this station. Common alarms include MS_RDI, HP_RDI, LP_RDI, and so on. |
It does not mean that there is a problem with a station just because there is an alarm at that station, it only means that the station has detected the alarm. The cause of this alarm may come from the opposite end station or other reasons. For example, the R_LOS alarm is caused by fiber breakage in practice, and the HP_LOM alarm is caused by cross-board failure at the opposite end station.
