The nesting of VLANs in the data messages of the Ethernet port of OSN3500 SDH transmission equipment is the basis for realizing the QinQ technology, and the concept of VLAN nesting is an important concept in the QinQ technology. The so-called VLAN nesting is the technique of encapsulating another layer of VLAN tags before the existing VLAN tags in the data frame structure, i.e., allowing a data frame to carry two layers of VLAN tags at the same time. The type of VLAN tagging allows you to differentiate between user-side and operator-side service packet services. The four-byte S-VLAN and C-VLAN fields can be further categorized into protocol identification definition "TPID" (TAG Protocol ID) and tag control information "TCI" (TAG Control Information).
Parameter Meaning
Default VLAN ID (Ethernet port attribute)-Indicates the default VLAN ID of the port.
Impact on the system: does not affect system operation.

Principle
Allocation is made according to the network planning of the operator.
Correlation with other parameters
- When the "Tag" of the port is "Access", the packets without VLAN ID will be added the default VLAN ID when entering the port, and the packets will be stripped off the VLAN ID when leaving the port.
- When the "Tag" of the port is "Hybrid", messages without VLAN ID will be added to the default VLAN ID when entering the port, and messages leaving the port with the same VLAN ID will have their VLAN ID stripped. will be stripped of the VLAN ID, otherwise, it passes through directly.
- When the "Tag" of the port is "Tag Aware", the message without VLAN ID will be discarded when it enters the port; otherwise, it passes through directly.
