Optix OSN2500 Ethernet Single Board Protection Features

OptiXOSN2500 When the N1EMS4 and N1EGS4 single boards support 1+1 BPS protection, the GE modules configured on the single boards can be either optical or electrical modules, and synchronize the setting and querying of the BPS modes on the network management. There are two BPS modes for these two single boards: master mode and slave mode. Only when the BPS mode is set to slave mode do these two single boards support GE electrical modules, at which time the inversion time of the single boards takes 1 s. On the network management, the BPS mode for the N1EMS4 and N1EGS4 single boards is defaulted to: master mode, that is, only GE optical modules are supported.

The OptiX OSN 2500 device supports 800 PPS/DLAG protection pairs.

The protection-related parameters are shown in Table 1.

  • (Static LAG, manual LAG) The links connecting the docking dual ends are directly connected without passing through the intermediate equipment, and the fiber is broken in both directions. The reversal time is ≤500ms.
  • (Static LAG, manual LAG) The links connecting the docking ports are directly connected, without passing through the intermediate equipment, with unidirectional fiber breakage, and the ports of the docking ports are configured for self-negotiation. The reversal time is ≤500ms.
  • (Static LAG) The links connecting the docking ports are directly connected, without intermediate equipment, and unidirectional fiber break. The reversal time is ≤3.5s.

When the protection group is to be inverted for BPS or PPS or DLAG protection, the following conditions must be met:

  • The equipment interfacing with the protection group must be in the same operating mode as the protection group.
  • The transmitter and receiver must be directly connected by fiber optic or network cable, and no other equipment can be connected.
  • The working mode cannot be changed, otherwise the protection group will work abnormally.
Caution:

The device cannot detect whether the receiving end of the protection group has changed the working mode.
