I. Functions and Features
The PQ1 single board supports E1 signal processing, overhead processing, alarm and performance events, maintenance features, and TPS protection.
The specific functions and features of the PQ1 single board are shown in Table 1.

N1PQ1 N2PQ1
Basic functions 63-channel E1 signal processing. 63-way E1 signal processing.
Service Processing N1PQ1 together with the outlet board can access and process 63-channel E1 electrical signals. N2PQ1 together with the outgoing board can access and process 63-channel E1 signals.
Supports E13 function, which mainly realizes the aggregation of low-level service E1 to high-level service E3.
Overhead Processing Supports the processing of channel overhead (transparent transmission and termination) at the VC12 level, such as J2 bytes.
Alarms and Performance Provides rich alarms and performance events to facilitate equipment management and maintenance.
Maintenance Features Supports the inner loopback and outer loopback functions of the electrical interface.
Supports soft reset and hard reset. Soft reset does not affect the service.
Supports the query function of single-board manufacturing information.
Supports online loading of FPGA.
Support smooth upgrade of single board software.
Support PRBS function.
Protection Mode PQ1 works with the outgoing board and supports TPS protection.
When the working board is PQ1, the protection slot can be inserted with PQM for mixed protection.




II. WORKING PRINCIPLE AND SIGNAL FLOW
The PQ1 single board consists of interface module, encoding/decoding module, mapping/demapping module, logic control and power supply module.
The functional block diagram of PQ1 single board is shown in Fig. 1.

1. Sending Direction
The electrical signals coming from the crossover unit undergo the demapping process in the demapping module, and the data and clock signals are extracted and sent to the encoder. After the encoding process in the encoder, the E1 signal is output. This signal is output to the interface board via the interface.
2. Receiving direction
The E1 signal input from the interface board enters the decoder through the interface module, and after decoding process in the decoder, it recovers the data signal and clock signal and sends them to the mapping module.
In the mapping module, the E1 signal will be asynchronously mapped to C-12, and then formed into VC-12 after channel overhead processing, formed into TU-12 after pointer processing, and then formed into VC-4 through multiplexing, and sent to the cross unit.
3. Logic control unit
completes the communication between the single board and the main control board. It reports the information and alarms of the single board to the main control board and receives the configuration commands issued by the main control board.
4. Power Supply Module
The power supply module provides the required DC voltage for all modules of the single board.
