I. Functions and Features
The EGT2 single board supports functions and features such as transparent transmission of Ethernet services, LCAS, and test frames.
The specific functions and features of the EGT2 single board are shown in Table 1.

Basic functions 2-way GE transparent transmission
Interface specifications 1000BASE-SX/LX/ZX Ethernet optical interface, supports self-negotiation function, and meets the IEEE802.3z standard. Adopting hot-swappable SFP optical module, the transmission distance can reach up to 550m for multi-mode fiber, and up to 10km for single-mode fiber (40km and 70km optical modules can also be selected according to the actual needs)

II. Working Principle and Signal Flow
The EGT2 single board consists of an interface module, a service processing module, an encapsulation/mapping module, an interface conversion module, a communication and control module, and a power supply module.
The functional block diagram of EGT2 single board is shown in Fig. 1.


1. Sending direction
sends the signals sent from the crossover unit to the encapsulation/conversion module for demapping and de-encapsulation via the interface conversion module. The service processing module determines the routing according to the level in which the device is located. It completes the functions of frame delimitation, adding leading code, calculating CRC check code and Ethernet performance statistics. Finally, the interface processing module carries out parallel/serial conversion and encoding to be sent out by the Ethernet interface.
2. Receiving direction
The interface processing module accesses signals sent from external Ethernet devices (e.g. Ethernet switches, routers, etc.) and performs decoding and serial/parallel conversion. Then it enters the service processing module to perform functions such as frame delimitation, stripping leading code, terminating CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) check code and Ethernet performance statistics. The HDLC, LAPS or GFP-F encapsulation of Ethernet frames is completed in the encapsulation module, and then sent to the mapping module for mapping, and finally sent to the crossover unit through the interface conversion module.
3. Communication and Control Module
The communication and control module mainly realizes the communication, control and service configuration functions of the single board.
4. Power supply module
The power supply module provides the required DC voltage for all modules of the single board.
