Background Information

Procedure

1. Select a network element in the Element Manager and click Configuration > SDH Service Configuration.
2. Select the corresponding service, and click "Show > Expand to Unidirectional".
3. Optional: If the service to be modified is active, you need to activate it. Select the service you want to modify and click De-Activate.

4. Click OK in the Confirmation dialog box that pops up twice. The "Operation Result" dialog box pops up to indicate that the operation was successful.
5. Click Close.
6. After the cross-connection is de-activated, you can modify the SDH service in the way of 7 or 8.

   
   

   Explanation:

   • The way in 7 can modify the source or the host of a service, but it requires that it be on the same single board before and after the modification.
   • When the way in 7 cannot satisfy the modification (for example, configuring a through service to local by modification), the way in 8 can be used to achieve the modification by deleting the original service and then re-creating the cross-connection.

   
   

7. Optional: Modify the service by using the "Modify" button in the right-click menu.
   1. Select the service to be modified, right-click it, and select "Modify". The "Modify SDH Service" dialog box pops up.
   2. Modify the "Source VC4" or "Host VC4", as well as the "Source Time Slot Range" and "Host Time Slot Range".
      
      

      
      

      Description:

      This method can only modify "source VC4" or "host VC4", but not both source and host VC4 at the same time.

      
      

   3. Click OK. The "Operation Result" dialog box pops up to indicate that the operation is successful.
   4. Click Close.
   5. Select the modified operation and click Activate.
   6. Click OK. The Operation Result dialog box pops up.
   7. Click Close.
8. Optional: Make changes by deleting the service and then recreating the SDH service.
   1. Select the service to be modified and click Delete.
   2. Click "OK" and the "Operation Result" dialog box will pop up to indicate that the operation is successful.
   3. Click Close. The operation has been deleted.
