Optix OSN2500 Modify Fiber Information
The name, attenuation, length, and type of fiber cable can be modified based on the connection and physical characteristics of the cable.
Prerequisites
The user has network administrator privileges of "Network Element Maintainer" or higher.
Steps
- Select "Inventory > Cables > Cable Management" in the main menu. Information about all cables is displayed in the right pane.
- Select a parameter value in the "Name" parameter column of a cable, right-click and select "Modify Cable". Enter the appropriate cable name in the Modify Cable dialog box, then click OK, and click Close in the Result dialog box. Close" in the "Result" dialog box that pops up.
- Select the parameter value in the "Length (km)" parameter column of a cable, right-click and select "Modify Cable". In the "Modify Cable" dialog box that pops up, enter the actual length of the cable, and then click "OK", and then click "Close" in the "Result" dialog box that pops up. Close" in the "Result" dialog box that pops up.
- Modify the fiber loss.
- Select the parameter value in the "Loss" parameter column of an optical fiber, right-click and select "Modify Cable".
- In the pop-up "Modify Cable" dialog box, enter the actual loss, click "OK", and then click "Close" in the pop-up "Result" dialog box. Close" in the "Result" dialog box that pops up.
- Modify the fiber type.
- Select a parameter value in the "Type" parameter column of a fiber, right-click and select "Modify Fiber".
- Select the actual type of fiber in the drop-down list of the pop-up "Modify Fiber" dialog box, click "OK", and then click "Close" in the pop-up "Result" dialog box. Close" in the "Result" dialog box that pops up.
