Optix OSN1500 VCTRUNK Channel Binding Requirements

Only one level of time slot can be bound to the same VCTRUNK of an Ethernet single board.

Configuration Features:
  • After each level of VC channel is used by one VCTRUNK binding, other VCTRUNKs can no longer be used.
  • The same VCTRUNK can only bind one level of channel, you cannot bind both VC-12 channels and VC-3 channels.
  • The 4th VC-4 can be bound to both VC-3 and VC-12 channels, the other VC-4s can only be bound to VC-3 channels.
  • Each VCTRUNK can bind up to 3 VC-3s or 63 VC-12s.
  • For all VCTRUNKs, VC-12s 1 through 63 are not allowed to be configured simultaneously with VC-3s 10 through 12.

  • When the slot bandwidth is 622 Mbit/s, 8 VCTRUNKs are supported.
  • When the slot bandwidth is 1.25Gbit/s, 16 VCTRUNKs are supported.

  • VCTRUNK1 to VCTRUNK8 need to be bound for use when the slot bandwidth is 622M bit/s.
  • The same VCTRUNK can only bind one level of channel, and cannot bind both VC-12 and VC-3 channels.
  • Each VCTRUNK can bind up to 3 VC-3 or 63 VC-12.
  • VCTRUNK1 to VCTRUNK8 can only bind VC-3 from 1 to 12 or VC-12 from 1 to 63.

  • For all VCTRUNKs, VC-12 No. 1 to 63 is not allowed to be configured at the same time as VC-3 No. 10 to 12, and VC-12 No. 64 to 126 is not allowed to be configured at the same time as VC-3 No. 22 to 24.
  • The two VC-4s, No. 4 and 8, can be bound to both VC-3 and VC-12 channels, and the other VC-4s can only be bound to VC-3 channels.
  • When configuring the crossover, VC-12s 1 through 63 should be configured to the 4th VC-4, and VC-12s 64 through 126 should be configured to the 8th VC-4.

  • One VCTRUNK can bind up to 8 VC-4s (or 24 VC-3s); the channels that can be bound by each VCTRUNK can be selected arbitrarily from 1 to 16 VC-4s (or 1 to 48 VC-3s).
  • For N1EGT2 single board, the virtual cascade mode of the 2 VCTRUNKs must be the same, i.e., both VCTRUNKs must be VC-4 level virtual cascade or both VC-3 level virtual cascade. For N2EGT2 single board, there is no such restriction.
SSN5EFS0
Quantity:
  • The number of VCTRUNK for N1EFS0 is 12.
  • The number of VCTRUNK for N2EFS0/N4EFS0/N5EFS0 is 24.

Configuration Features:

  • After the VC channel of each level is used by one VCTRUNK binding, other VCTRUNKs can no longer be used.
  • VCTRUNK1 to VCTRUNK12 are required to be bound for use when the bandwidth of N2EFS0/N4EFS0/N5EFS0 slot is 622M bit/s.
  • VCTRUNK1 to VCTRUNK12 of N1EFS0/N2EFS0/N4EFS0 can only bind channels of 1 to 4 VC-4, and VCTRUNK13 to VCTRUNK24 can only bind channels of 5 to 8 VC-4.
  • The two VC-4s, 4 and 8, can be bound to both VC-3 and VC-12 channels, while the other VC-4s can only be bound to VC-3 channels.
  • The same VCTRUNK can only be bound to one level of channel, it cannot be bound to both VC-12 channels and VC-3 channels.

  • N1EFS4 has a VCTRUNK number of 12.
  • The number of VCTRUNK for N2EFS4 and N3EFS4 is 24.

  • After a VC channel of each level is used by one VCTRUNK binding, other VCTRUNKs can no longer be used.
  • VCTRUNK1 to VCTRUNK12 are required to be bound for use when the bandwidth of N2EFS4 and N3EFS4 slots is 622M bit/s.
  • The same VCTRUNK can only bind one level of channel, and cannot bind both VC-12 and VC-3 channels.
  • VCTRUNK1 to VCTRUNK12 of N1EFS4 and N2EFS4 can only bind 1 to 4 VC-4 channels, and VCTRUNK13 to VCTRUNK24 can only bind 5 to 8 VC-4 channels.
  • Each VCTRUNK can bind up to 12 VC-3s or 63 VC-12s.

When the slot bandwidth is 1.25Gbit/s, VCTRUNK1 to VCTRUNK12 of N3EGS2 can only bind channels of 1 to 4 VC-4, and VCTRUNK13 to VCTRUNK24 can only bind channels of 5 to 8 VC-4. When the slot bandwidth is 2.5Gbit/s, the VCTRUNK of N3EGS2 has no such binding limitation, and supports binding 24 VC-3 at most.

  • The 1st to 4th and 9th to 12th VC-4s of N3EGS4/N4EGS4 can be bound as VC-12/VC-3/VC-4 channels, and other VC-4s can be bound as VC-3/VC-4 channels.
  • The 1st to 8th VC-4 and 9th to 16th VC-4 of N3EGS4/N4EGS4 are divided into two zones, and VC-3/VC-4 cannot be bound across zones.
  • The 1st to 4th VC-4 and 9th to 12th VC-4 of N3EGS4/N4EGS4 are divided into two zones, and VC-12 cannot be bound across zones.
  • N1EGS4/N3EGS4 can bind up to 8 VC-4 or 24 VC-3 or 64 VC-12 per VCTRUNK.
  • A maximum of 8 VC-4s or 24 VC-3s or 63 VC-12s can be bound per VCTRUNK.
SSN3EAS2

The number of VCTRUNKs for N1EAS2 is 24.

Configuration Features:

  • After a VC channel of each level is used by one VCTRUNK binding, other VCTRUNKs can no longer be used.
  • Each VCTRUNK can be bound to a maximum of 8 VC-4s or 24 VC-3s.
  • The same VCTRUNK cannot bind both VC-4 and VC-3 channels, only one. Different VCTRUNK can bind different levels of channels.
  • Support VC-4-4c adjacent cascade, VC-3/VC-4 dummy cascade.
  • Only VCTRUNK1 ~ VCTRUNK4, 4 VCTRUNKs support 9600-byte Jumbo frames, other VCG ports do not support Jumbo frames.
The number of VCTRUNKs for N3EAS2:
  • When the slot bandwidth is 10Gbit/s, the number of VCTRUNKs supported is 17 (i.e., VCTRUNK1 to VCTRUNK17 ).
  • When the slot bandwidth is 20Gbit/s, the number of VCTRUNKs supported is 34 (i.e., VCTRUNK1 to VCTRUNK34 ).
Configuration Features:
  • After a VC channel of each level is used by one VCTRUNK binding, other VCTRUNKs can no longer be used.
  • The maximum number of VC-4s that can be bound to VCTRUNK1 and VCTRUNK18 is 64, and the maximum number of VC-4s that can be bound to other VCTRUNKs is 8.
  • VCTRUNK1 to VCTRUNK17 can only bind channels from 1 to 64 VC-4, and VCTRUNK18 to VCTRUNK34 can only bind channels from 65 to 128 VC-4.
