    OSN8800 TN52TOM Technical Specification

    The TOM single board supports functions and features such as electrical layer crossing, OTN interfaces, ESC, and so on.

    The TOM single board functions and features, as shown in Table 1.

    Description:
    Only the TN52TOM supports ODU0 in the OptiX OSN 8800.

    Functions and Features Description
    Basic Functions
    • When used as a tributary board, it realizes the conversion of 100Mbit/s to 2.67Gbit/s services and ODU0 or ODU1 on the customer side.
    • When used as a single board for branch line integration, it realizes the conversion of 100Mbit/s to 2.67Gbit/s service and OTU1 for customer side access.
    • Support aggregation of multiple services to one ODU0 or ODU1.

    TOM supports various application scenarios, please refer to Application Overview for the introduction of each application scenario.

    Customer-side Service Types

    FE: Ethernet service at a rate of 125 Mbit/s.

    GE: Ethernet service at a rate of 1.25Gbit/s. Supports GE optical or electrical signals.

    OTU1: OTN service at 2.67Gbit/s.

    STM-1/OC-3: SDH/SONET service at a rate of 155.52 Mbit/s

    STM-4/OC-12: SDH/SONET service at a rate of 622.08 Mbit/s

    STM-16/OC-48: SDH/SONET service at a rate of 2.5Gbit/s

    FC100: SAN service at a rate of 1.06 Gbit/s

    FC200: SAN service at 2.12 Gbit/s

    FICON: SAN service at 1.06Gbit/s

    FICON Express: SAN service at 2.12Gbit/s

    HD-SDI: high-definition digital TV service at 1.49 Gbit/s

    DVB-ASI: digital TV service at 270Mbit/s

    SDI: digital TV service at 270Mbit/s

    ESCON: SAN service at 200 Mbit/s

    FDDI: SAN service at a rate of 125 Mbit/s

    Description:

    TOM single-board access to the GE signal, in order to facilitate the fiber, it is recommended to configure a maximum of two electrical modules, it is recommended to install the electrical module in the "RX1"/"TX1", "RX2"/"TX2". RX1"/"TX1" and "RX2"/"TX2" ports.

    TOM board supports access to SDI, HD-SDI, DVB-ASI signals, access requires the use of digital video photoelectric converter box, the optical module needs to meet the requirements of the single-board optical module indicators, the video converter box is a third-party device, you need to purchase their own.

    Only TN52TOM supports access to SDI, HD-SDI signals.

    • TN52TOM
      • Supports 8 ODU0 or 4 ODU1 signals to cross-schedule services with the cross board via the backplane bus.
    OptiX OSN 6800:
    • TN11TOM:
      • Supports cross-scheduling of 4 ODU1 signals over the backplane bus for services with a cross board or a single board in the dyadic board position.
      • Supports up to 8 GE signals to interconnect with single boards in cross board or dual board position via backplane bus to realize cross scheduling of services.
      • Supports up to 8 signals of any rate between 100Mbit/s and 2.5Gbit/s to be interconnected with the single board of the dual board via the backplane bus to realize the cross-scheduling of services.
    • TN52TOM:
      • Supports 4-way ODU1 signals to realize cross-scheduling of services through the backplane bus with the cross-board.
      • Supports 6-way GE signals to interconnect with the single board of the dyadic board position through the backplane bus to realize the cross-scheduling of services.
      • Supports 6 channels of signals with any rate between 100Mbit/s and 2.5Gbit/s to realize cross-scheduling of services via backplane bus interconnecting with the single board in the pairwise board position.
    OptiX OSN 3800:
    • TN11TOM:
      • Supports the scheduling of 4 ODU1 signals to 3 other single boards in a 4-board mesh group.
      • Supports scheduling of up to 8 GE signals to other 3 single boards in a 4-board position mesh group.
      • Supports scheduling of up to 8 signals with any rate between 100Mbit/s and 2.5Gbit/s to other 3 single boards in 4-board mesh group.
    • TN52TOM:
      • Supports the scheduling of 4 ODU1 signals to 2 single boards in non-parallel slots of a 4-board position mesh group, i.e., it supports the scheduling between IU2 and IU4, IU2 and IU5, IU3 and IU4, and IU3 and IU5 slots.
      • Supports the scheduling of 6 GE signals to the single boards of the paired slots of the 4-board position mesh group, i.e., supports the scheduling between IU2 and IU3, IU4 and IU5 slots.
      • Supports the scheduling of 6 signals of any rate between 100Mbit/s and 2.5Gbit/s to the single board of the pair of slots in the 4-board mesh group, i.e., supports the scheduling between the slots of IU2 and IU3, and between the slots of IU4 and IU5.
    OTN Functions
    • Mapping processing meets ITU-T G.7041 and ITU-T G.709 recommendations, using ITU-T G.709 recommended frame format and overhead processing.
    • Support SM and TCM functions at OTU1 and ODU1 layers on the WDM side.
    • Supports PM, TCM non-intervening monitoring functions at OTU1 and ODU1 layers.
    • Supports PM function at ODU1 layer.
    • TN52TOM supports PM function at ODU0.
    WDM Specifications

    Supports DWDM specifications of ITU-T G.694.1.

    Supports CWDM specifications of ITU-T G.694.2.

    ESC Function Support
    Error correction coding FEC coding is supported on the client side only when accessing OTU1, in accordance with ITU-T G.709 recommendations.
    Performance Monitoring and Alarm Monitoring
    • Provides BIP8 byte monitoring (Poisson mode or burst mode), which can locate line faults.
    • Provides the following monitoring functions: laser bias current monitoring, laser operating temperature monitoring, optical power monitoring, etc.
    • Support OTN performance monitoring and alarm monitoring functions.
    • With Ethernet RMON monitoring function.

    Description:
    Only TN11TOM supports Poisson mode.
    ALS function

    Client side support.

    PRBS Test Function
    PRBS function is supported on the customer side and WDM side.
    Description:
    Description: the PRBS function is supported on the customer side only when STM-1/OC-3, STM-4/OC-12, and STM-16/OC-48 services are accessed.
    LPT Function

    The LPT function is supported only when the service type of the customer side is FE/GE.

    Ethernet service encapsulation mode

    The encapsulation of GE services into GE(GFP-F) mode (displayed as GE on the network management) and GE(GFP-T) mode is supported.

    GE: self-negotiation, 1000M full duplex
