Optix OSN1500 Creates Linear Multiplexing Segment Protection Subnet
By creating linear multiplexed segment protection in a chained network, network elements can realize the protection of services in different transmission cable segments.
Prerequisites
The user has "Network element and its network maintainer" or higher network administrator user privileges.
The data for each network element has been configured on the network administrator and the fibers have been created correctly.
Background information
It is not supported to divide the fiber to which the MSP chained protection belongs to other protection subnets, i.e., it is not supported to form a virtual fiber between the multiplexed segment chained protection and other subnets.
Note:
Starting the protocol controller operation may cause service interruption.
Procedure
Select "Service > SDH Protection Subnet > Create Multiplexing Segment Linear Protection 1+1 " in the main menu to enter the "Create Protection Subnet" page.
Description:
If you want to create a multiplexed segment linear protection M:N, select "Service > SDH Protection Subnet > Create Multiplexed Segment Linear Protection M:N " in the main menu to enter the corresponding creation page.
Enter the name of the protection subnet. Usually, you can use the default name, e.g., Multiplexing segment linear protection 1+1_1.
Select the capacity level of the protection subnet. For example: STM-4.
Set the "Recovery Mode" and "Reverse Mode" according to the type of protection and your needs.
Description:
Note on parameter setting:
For the multiplexed segment linear protection M:N, you also need to set the number of working links " N ". " M " is the number of protection links, which cannot be set and is currently only 1.
"Recovery mode" refers to the processing strategy that is used after the faulty line returns to normal. "Non-recovery mode" means that after the faulty line returns to normal, the service is not restored to the primary channel. "Recovery mode" means that after the faulty line returns to normal, the service is automatically restored to the primary channel.
"Reversal mode" refers to the reversal strategy used when a fault occurs on a line. "Single-ended inversion" means that when a fault occurs at the receiving end, inversion occurs at the receiving end; when a fault occurs at the transmitting end, inversion occurs at the transmitting end, so that the service is protected. "Double-end inversion" means that when either the receiving end or the transmitting end fails, both the receiving end and the transmitting end are inverted, so that the service is protected.
The essence of "resource sharing" is to map the same single board port to multiple protection subnets. When there are multiple protection subnets occupying the same port of the same single board, you must select "Resource Sharing", while for different protection subnets occupying different ports of a single board, you do not need to select "Resource Sharing".
The "Classify by VC4 " means that different VC4s are assigned to different protection subnets, which is used to realize partial multiplexing segment protection. For example, for an STM-16 fiber, VC4s1 to 4 belong to the shared protection of an STM-4 multiplexing segment, and VC4s5 to 8 belong to the unprotected ring.
Select the nodes included in the protection subnet to be created. Double-click on the selected network element in the main topology to add it to the list of nodes on the left, while it is displayed on the network element icon (double-click on the network element again to cancel the setting).
Click "Next" to enter "Link Selection" to set the parameters of "Working Link" and "Protected Link" such as the physical information of the link. physical information of the link, and other parameters.
Click Finish to send the configuration. The system pops up the "Operation Result" prompt box, click "Close".
Right-click on the protection subnet and select "Properties of Protection Subnet".
Click the Protection Subnet Maintenance tab to confirm that the Protocol Controller is up.
If the protocol controller is not up, do the following:
Select all network elements of the protection subnet.
Right-click and select Start/Stop Protocol > Startup in the pop-up context menu.
Double-click "Yes" in the prompt box to put all Protocol Controllers in the "Protocol Startup" state.
Click the Protected Subnet Parameters tab, and set the Inversion Recovery Waiting Time and SD Trigger Condition as required. Click Apply to send the configuration.
Description:
The "Reverse Recovery Waiting Time" setting should be the same for each network element in the same protection subnet.
