N1EGS4 and N4EGS4 single boards support 1000BASE-T RJ-45 Ethernet electrical interfaces (the electrical interfaces are hot-swappable, and the corresponding single boards are SSN1EGS414 and SSN4EGS414), and the electrical interfaces support self-negotiation, and the transmission distance can be up to 100 m. Cause Analysis
On OptiX OSN1500/2500/3500/7500, N1EGS4 board is supported in V100R004 and above, and the minimum host software version is 5.36.14.32/5.21.14.32. Operation Procedure
When using N4EGS4 single board with electrical interface, you need to make the following settings:
Verify that the barcode of the N4EGS4 single board is SSN4EGS414.
Verify that the host version is 5.36.19.13/5.21.19.13 and above.
Add the logical single board as N4EGS4 on the network management (do not use the multi-board ID function to add it as N3EGS4, otherwise the electrical interface is still not supported).
Change the port type on the network management: Ethernet Configuration - Ethernet Interface Management - Ethernet Interfaces - External Ports - Change the port logical type to SDH electrical interface (the single-board power-on defaults to SDH optical interface, which needs to be changed to SDH electrical interface, or else it will report MOD_TYPE_MISMATCH, which indicates that the set SFP module type is not the same as the actual module type, and it affects the (the opening of the service).
Recommendation Summary
N4EGS4 veneer from R9 version supports configuring the logical veneer as N3EGS4 or N4EGS4, before R9N4EGS4 veneer can only be configured as N3EGS4 through the Multi Board ID function, if it is configured as N3EGS4 veneer then it only has the function of N3EGS4 veneer, therefore, if you add a logical veneer as N3EGS4, even if the physical type is SSN4EGS414, there is no functional interface on the network management to change the logical port to SDH electrical interface.
For this EGS4 single board, the MOD_TYPE_MISMATCH alarm is a new alarm added from the N4 series, which does not exist for N1 and N3.
