Optix OSN1800V In traditional WDM optical networks, usually dual-fiber bidirectional transmission, i.e., receiving and transmitting each use a single fiber to transmit multi-wavelength optical signals.OptiX OSN series provides single-fiber bidirectional transmission solutions, through the filtering function of the OADM veneer, to achieve the receiving and transmitting of multi-wavelength optical signals on a single optical fiber to achieve the effective use of optical fiber resources.

The single-fiber bi-directional transmission method can be applied to CWDM and DWDM systems.

1、Single-fiber bi-directional transmission solution for CWDM system: realized by SBM1, SBM2, SBM4 single board. It supports up to 8 wavelengths and up to 4 waves of single-fiber bidirectional transmission.

2、Single-fiber bi-directional transmission solution for DWDM system: realized by SBM1, SBM2, SBM8, X40 single board. It supports up to 32 wavelengths and up to 16 waves of single-fiber bidirectional transmission.

The split-multiplexing capability of each single board and the supported wavelengths are shown in the table below.

Figure 1-31 illustrates the application of the single-fiber bidirectional transmission method using the SBM1 single board and the SBM2 single board as examples.

The single-fiber bidirectional system in the figure transmits four wavelengths, and the green arrow shows the signal flow direction of λ1. The bi-directional transmission of optical signals on one fiber is completed on the line.
