Some of the veneers on the OptiX OSN device have unadded ports by default on the network management. After adding a logical single board on the network management, you also need to manually add single board ports to further create fibers and configure services on the ports. For the used ports, you can query the port usage status through the network management or delete the corresponding ports as needed.
Prerequisites
- The user has the privilege of "Maintainer Group" or above.
- It has been determined that the board needs to add ports manually.
- Before deleting a port, you must delete the services on the port.
Impact on the system
After deleting a port, the port will not be able to create fibers, configure services, and alarms will not be reported.
Procedures
- Double-click the Main Topology icon in the Workbench view to enter the main topology diagram.
- Double-click the network element icon in the main topology to bring up the network element panel view.
- Right-click on the corresponding board in the network element panel and select "Channel Map".
- Right-click in the left margin of the pop-up "Channel Map" tab and select "Add Port" to bring up the "Add Port" dialog box.
- Select "Port", "Type" and "Rate", and click "OK".
- Optional: Right-click in the left margin of the pop-up "Channel Map" tab and select "Query Port Status" to query the port status of the network element.
- Optional: In the left window of the "Channel Map" tab, right-click the port to be deleted, select "Delete Port", and click "OK" to delete it.
