Enabling the REG Function of Optical Interface Boards of OSN3500 Optical Transport Devices
For OptiX OSN3500 devices that are not REG devices, some of the optical interface boards support the REG function. By enabling the ports of such boards, you can make them transmit data as required by REG devices.
Prerequisites
- The user has the privilege of "Operator Group" and above.
- Confirm that the optical interface board supports the REG function.
Impact on the system
For an optical interface board that is not a REG device, changing the REG enable state of a line port resets the board. During the reset period, querying the information of this single board will report an error.
The port REG enable operation of the optical interface board affects the network data and removes the fiber, protection subnet, and path on the port from the network management. You need to confirm that no fiber is connected to the port before performing the setup operation.
Procedure
- Double-click the Main Topology icon in the Workbench view to enter the main topology diagram.
- Select the network element you want to operate, right-click it, and select "Network Element Manager" in the pop-up menu.
- Select the corresponding board in the Element Manager, and then select "Configuration > SDH Interface" in the Function Tree.
- Select "By Single Board/Port (Channel)".
- Select the port that needs to set hardware REG enable, and select "Enable" in the "Hardware REG Enable" drop-down menu.
- Click "Apply". Close the pop-up "Tip" and "Warning" dialog boxes in turn.
- Close the Result dialog box.
