Configuring the FEC Function of OSN3500 SSN1SF64
Configuring the FEC (Forward Error Correction) function of the OSN3500 SF64 single board requires enabling the FEC function.
Background information
Huawei FEC is the forward error correction technology. The quality of optical signals deteriorates after transmission, leading to misjudgment at the receiving end, which may result in the phenomenon that a "1" signal is misjudged as a "0" and a "0" signal is misjudged as a "1". "1" phenomenon.
FEC technology through the transmitter to add the check bit, so that the receiver can check the bit to carry out certain calculations to correct the error code in the code stream. This technique improves the signal-to-noise tolerance of the optical signal at the receiving end and improves the transmission quality of the transmission network.
Procedure
- Double-click the Main Topology icon in the Workbench view to enter the main topology diagram.
- Right-click on the network element icon of the main topology and select "Network Element Manager".
- Select a single board in the Element Manager, and then select Configuration > WDM Interfaces in the Function Tree.
- Click "Configure by Single Board/Port (Channel)".
- In "Advanced Properties", query and enable the FEC function.
- To query the FEC status, select the optical port to be operated and click "Query". In the "Operation Result" dialog box that pops up, click "Close".
- To enable the FEC status, select the optical port to be operated and set the "FEC Working Status" to "Enable".
