SUBCARD_ABN alarm reported on OSN3500 device TPS protection slot EFS0 single board

Description of the problem

A SUBCARD_ABN alarm is reported on the EFS0 board in slot 2 of the OSN3500 device, alarm parameters: 0x01 0x00 0x01

This slot is a TPS protected board in slot 3 EFS0, interface board bit TSB8.


Processing

1, from the alarm parameters point to the small slot TSB8 problem, 19 slots.

2, suspect that the 19-slot TSB8 failure, the alarm still exists after the site unplugging the single board, and then in and 20-slot TSB8 single board alignment slot, the alarm is still pointing to the 19-slot.

3, the alarm does not follow the single board, there may be a problem with the backplane, but the equipment before the operation is not a problem, backplane problems are unlikely, after checking there is no reverse pin.

4, use navigator to log in to the device, :cfg-get-board query 19 slots is TSB8, use :cfg-get-phybd query found 19 slots EFF8 single board.

5, let the field return 19 slot of the single board BOM for: 03026756, query indeed for SSN1TSB8 single board.

6, delete the logical single board of TSB8 in slot 19 (need to delete the TPS protection), query phybd again and it is still EFF8.

7, due to the TSB8 is no CPU board, TSB8 board state is a corresponding EFS0 board to complete, judgment for the 2-slot EFS0 board has a problem caused by this phenomenon.

8, the scene unplugged 2-slot EFS0 single board, again using phybd query, 19 slots are normally displayed as TSB8 single board, add the logic board after the elimination of the alarm.


Root Cause

The 2-slot EFS0 single board hangs dead, causing the 19-slot interface board to be incorrectly recognized.


Recommendation and Summary

For the processing board failure caused by the interface board recognition error, this phenomenon looks very strange, mastering the detection principle of the CPU-less single board can also be quickly dealt with. SUBCARD_ABN alarm, in addition to troubleshooting the corresponding interface boards, the processing board failure should also be considered.
