Operation Procedure

• Cause 1: The veneer is not inserted tightly or the hardware is faulty, resulting in the veneer not being in position.
  1. Check the veneer board on site to ensure that it is installed and has good contact with the motherboard.
  2. Hard reset or directly unplug the faulty veneer.
  3. Check whether the veneer board is in position, if not, select a spare board with exactly the same veneer parameters as the faulty veneer board and replace the veneer board.
  4. Check whether the status of the single board is normal, if not restored, turn to other reasons.
• Reason 2: The motherboard is inverted or faulty, resulting in the single board is not in position.
  1. Contact Huawei engineers to replace the motherboard.
  2. Check whether the status of the single board is normal, and if it is not restored, turn to other causes.
• Cause 3: Software version mismatch or software failure, resulting in the veneer not being in position.
  1. Check the version of the main control board and business board software to determine whether they are matching.
  2. If the versions of the master control board and service board software do not match or the software fails, contact Huawei engineers to upgrade the corresponding board software.
  3. Check whether the status of the single board is normal, and if it is not restored, turn to other reasons.
• Reason 4: Configuration error, resulting in the single board not being in position.
  1. Unplug the faulty single board on site.
  2. Delete the logic board of the faulty single board and re-add the correct logic board.
  3. Check whether the status of the single board is normal, if not restored, turn to other reasons.
• Cause 5: The ambient temperature exceeds the limit, resulting in the single board is not in position.
  1. Check whether the temperature of the server room meets the requirements of the index. If the temperature of the machine room is too high, you need to adjust the operating status of the air conditioner in the machine room to ensure that the temperature of the machine room is in the appropriate range.
     Description:

     The temperature requirements for normal operation of OptiX OSN equipment are:

     • Long-term operation: 0°C to 45°C
     • Short-term operation (short-term operation refers to continuous operation of no more than 96 hours and an accumulation of no more than 15 days per year.) : -5°C to 55°C
  2. Check whether the network element reports FAN_FAIL. if so, refer to the Alarm and Performance Event Reference to handle fan failures.
  3. See if the network element reports a TEMP_OVER or TEMP_ALARM alarm. If so, clean the dust screen on site or replace the steel dust screen.
  4. Check if the status of the veneer is normal, if not recovered, turn to other causes.
