Phenomenon Description
The networking scenario for this case is shown in Figure 1.

The panel diagram of gateway network element A is grayed out on the network management, and it is not possible to query the relevant information of this network element, but it is possible to query the service information and link information passing through network element A. The command line can log in to network element A, but it is still not possible to execute the query command. You can log in to network element A through the command line, but you still cannot execute the query command. The status indicators of each single board are normal, and all the services carried by Node A are normal, and no alarms are reported.
Cause Analysis
The possible causes are as follows:
Physical link failure between the network administrator and the gateway network element. Software program running crash. Poor contact between the main control board and the subrack. Auxiliary board has poor contact with the subrack. Auxiliary interface board failure. Main control board failure. Motherboard bus failure.
Operation Procedure
First check the physical link between the network manager and the gateway network element. Since you can query the service information and link information passing through the network element on the network manager, and the communication between the network element and the network manager is not interrupted, the possibility of a physical link failure is ruled out.
After the soft reset and hard reset of the main control board in turn, the fault phenomenon still exists, then exclude the possibility that the software program of the main control board crashes and the main control board has poor contact with the sub-frame.
The auxiliary interface board in turn for soft reset, hard reset, the failure phenomenon still exists, then exclude the auxiliary interface board software program running crash and the auxiliary interface board and the possibility of poor contact with the sub-frame.
At the equipment site, connect the PC to the Ethernet port of the auxiliary interface board, and go to Ping the IP address of the network element, but still can not log in to the network element. The failure phenomenon is the same as when logging in through the network management, and there is also packet loss.
Check the data transceiver indicator on the auxiliary interface board, the indicator flashes normally, indicating that the Ethernet side of the data transmission is normal. The preliminary positioning of the auxiliary interface board failure.
Replace the auxiliary interface board.
Optional: Go to Ping the IP address of the network element through a PC and be able to successfully log in to the network element with no packet loss.
Disconnect the PC from the auxiliary interface board.
Logging in to the network element from the network management was successful and the fault phenomenon disappeared, thus determining that the auxiliary interface board is faulty.
