Operation Steps
- As the SL64 single board of station B reports the regeneration segment and multiplexing segment error code, station A receives the error code pair report from station B, which confirms that the problem is a unidirectional reception error code. Through checking the performance of network management and on-site testing, station B receives optical power of -12.7dB from station A, which is in the normal range, and excludes the reason that the received optical power is too weak.
- After testing the fiber connectivity, the optical fiber between station A and station B for transceiver alignment, the fault phenomenon does not shift with the fiber alignment, to rule out optical path failure.
- Since the configuration is a GXCSA single board, it excludes the error code caused by the matching problem with the line board.
- Replace the SL64 optical boards at stations A and B. The faults do not disappear, so you can rule out a single board fault.
- Study the network diagram, found that the distance between A and B is 100km, the rate is 10G, the configuration of the structure is "optical board + BA + PA + DCU + optical board". The BA and PA modules are examined, and no abnormality is found.
- Since DCU is a dispersion compensation module, it is not suitable for loopback, so DCU is removed and turned into "PA + optical board".
- When preparing for the loopback test, it was found that the error code changed from tens of thousands to 1 or 2. Thus, it is judged that the DCU is faulty, and the fault disappears after replacing the DCU.
Due to DCU failure, the equipment reported a large number of regeneration and multiplexing segment BERs, and the problem was solved after replacing the DCU.
OptiX OSN 3500
BER Problems
The SNCP ring network composed of OptiX OSN 3500 devices adopts GXCSA as cross boards and SL64 boards in the main ring, and station B receives a large number of regeneration and multiplexing segment errors reported by the SL64 board at station A. At the same time, station A receives regeneration and multiplexing segment errors reported by the SL64 board at station B. The problem is solved after replacing the DCU.
-
There are restrictions on the use of EXCSA veneer boards. N2/T2 series boards, except T2SL64A and N2SLQ16, cannot be used with T1EXCSA veneer boards. There is no restriction on the use of GXCSA veneer boards with circuit boards.
Although the DCU single board is a piece of dispersion supplemental fiber, but there is a possibility of failure, judgment of failure should be careful, do not let any link.
