Phenomenon Description
The OOL alarm occurs at irregular intervals, and the last time this alarm occurred, an EXCSA master/standby reversal occurred. This device provides the master clock source for other devices in the network.
The cross-board EXCSA reports the OOL, SYN_BAD, and S1_SYN_CHANGE alarms.The OOL alarm indicates that the line clock of the incoming signal is not being tracked and is locked by the CDR phase-locked loop. The crossboard synchronization source is lost and the synchronization alarm appears.
Cause Analysis
The device generating the alarm enabled the standard SSM protocol, while other devices in the network enabled the extended SSM protocol, resulting in the input clock signal not being tracked and a synchronization alarm appearing.
Steps to be taken
- Modify the clock subnet configuration to enable the extended SSM protocol, and the alarm disappears.
